Back in full swing

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 21, 2009, 2:45 AM
So things are pretty much back in full swing for me here on dA. I'm even browsing from time to time. I've never browsed. But there I am...doing it. It's nice to spend time on here again, it's very refreshing especially since most of my other time online is spent reading/watching things about video games, a resource which tends to get exhausted quickly.

I've been shooting a tiny bit every day these days, a tiny bit. Nothing deviantworthy but some fun things none-the-less. Mikey is always the ever willing subject which is a nice change from how he was before I deployed where he was scared of the sound of the shutter. Now he thinks it's funny. Heheh.

In full fashion I do like to post photos I like that I've taken just to let you all know what I've been up to without flooding my gallery full of crap. I tend to clean out my gallery once a year to get rid of things I don't think are good anymore and move them over to my scraps. You'll notice most all of my poetry is in there now along with other things that make me sob a little but are nice and nostalgic to see from time to time. Laugh at the photos I took the first night I took my work camera back to my barracks room hehe.

Anyway. Ahem. Photos.

We'll start with the blurry one. But I don't care, bex and mikey are coming down the stairs and he's grinning like a fool. Ahhh if only stairs and the anticipation of going out shopping made us all so happy.

Mo stairs

As you can see I rushed to the car while Mikey insisted on coming down the outdoor steps as well.

Stairs

And then I was busy looking stylish.

Me

When we got home Mikey enjoyed more stairs.

Photobucket

Yesterday when i got home from work the door was locked and my family was nowhere to be found until I discovered mikey outside doing THIS

Mikey

He seemed to be very curious about his surroundings outside as he sat all soaking wet...

What's That?

And of course, randomly excited

Eeeee!

So yes in all it's been a fun couple of days.

Tomorrow the plan is for *divinedecay (shameless wife-promotion there) and I to head to a small town nearby, with a name I can pronounce but cannot spell, and visit a castle and some gardens and drink a beer or two while shooting photos of things. Hopefully people are out in droves and I'll be able to get some street shots, I'll be wearing my photographers eyes for sure and I'm looking forward to what I'll see.

In other news, I've been finding more people who live in Europe to play Blazblue with and needless to say I'm ridiculously excited. If you guys start noticing some anime-esque artwork in my favorites here shortly it's probably got a lot to do with my BB addiction.

For which there is no treatment.

I have been meaning to add artist spotlights and other such things for cool people I find on here like i did in the past but I just haven't gotten around to it yet so...soon perchance. If you guys ever have any suggestions for people I should take a look at just let me know! I'm always up for checking other peoples work out even if it's not my particular style of work.

Cheers.

I am a Soldier in the United States Army, currently stationed in Heidelberg Germany as part of the U.S. Army Europe Public Affairs Office.

I am qualified as an Army Photojournalist and have been working as such for the last five years. Almost all of my military photojournalism shots have been taken while on the job. I've been deployed twice, first to Kosovo in 2006, and then to Iraq for a short five months in early 2009. With any luck I'll be in Afghanistan this time next year.

I love street photography as my personal passion along with taking photos of my son Mikey, and my wife ~divinedecay who I found on dA in 2006 and have been madly in love with every since.

I play ridiculous amounts of video games.

I can be found as Raidhyn pretty much anywhere on the internet.

Thanks, and thanks for the +watch as well! To be honest I got into this job because I enjoyed writing and I thought that's what I would be doing...then they gave me a camera and everything changed =)
